The Lovely Years of Youth

Oh, the lovely years of youth
Of laughter, joy, and tears
Oh, the lovely days of youth
Grow sweeter through the years

The days of our foundation
On which we build our life
The days we learned what patience means
And how to stop a strife

The days we learned to love
To care, to want, to see
The days we learned “You can’t do that.”
And “It’s not all about me.”

The days of cozy nights at home
Of giggles, games, and friends
The days of dreams and wonders
When your ambition never ends

The days when the future’s before you
And many sweet memories behind
The days of digging in the sand
And sliding down the slide

Oh, the lovely years of youth!
When I am sixty-two
I will treasure yet these days
And see what dreams came true

I am a nineteen-year-old girl who loves to write, especially fiction. I write many stories and poems. I usually have a moral or lesson behind my writings, for I hope these stories and poems, which Yehovah (God) helped me to write, will glorify Him as I share them on this blog. Welcome to my blog and I hope you enjoy your stay!

  1. Love the poem, Faith. “The days of our foundation on which we build our life…” this is so true for everyone. Each of our lives are shaped by the foundation that was laid in our childhood. If it was not a good foundation, we spend a lot of our adult life trying to change or overcome that foundation. Glad you have a family that is raising you with a good and Godly foundation for your life.
    Keep writing! 🙂

    1. Oh, yes, Yehovah was so good to give me such a wonderful foundation for my life!

Knowing the way I am, I have no choice but to keep writing! 😀
