My Trailblazer

In the woods, though the sun shines through the trees
There are many things that I cannot see

Brambles and vines grow right by my feet
Thorny blackberries grow as tall as me

Whenever I walk I get stuck on a thorn
Now I can’t move, I’m tired, I’m worn

How will I make my way through?

Then my Trailblazer comes for me
Snipping the vines from around my feet

He tells me to follow, He knows the way
If I walk behind Him I shall not stray

He’ll make me a path much better than mine
He’ll clear away the brambles, the thorns, and the vines

If I follow Him I’ll be safe

So now I hurry, so glad for His care
I run simply trusting that brambles aren’t there

With Him going before me, I’ve nothing to fear
What peace I have knowing that my El is near!

When I become tired, He gives me His hand
And leads me homeward, over water and land

My Trailblazer is leading me still

  1. Beautiful poem, Faith! What a soothing word picture of Elohim’s protection and His “going before us”.

Ten years ago, I would not have known what the “El” reference in your poem was…but now I know. ❤️

    1. I’m finally back to my blog after my trip. Thank you for the comments you leave me!

I am glad that you enjoyed the poem, and that you are learning more about Yah. 🙂
